Description
I just tried to import a small CSV-spreadsheet with data for my own custom "Sample" content type. It links with locations and bibliographies using NIDs and looks just fine on the import preview. The import however pretty much just creates empty nodes with nothing more than a title. The site reported no errors while importing.
I attach some screenshots below.
This is a showstopper for me so please please look into it!

Have you tried importing the file without the NID fields? It might be just the NID import that is not working.
#3
I've traced the problem. It was actually the Date field that caused the import to malfunction. This field is not possible to match with a column in the CSV-file when configuring the import and instead suggests a default date of "Sat, 2011-01-01" for all my samples in the preview. After I remove the Date field, everything imports fine, including the NIDs :-)
So for now, I will use a text field for my dates but maybe the devs can share some light on all this.

For my specimen imports I use the format "6/20/2007" for dates. Try importing with this format, Andreas.
#5
How did you first configure the date field?

I don't think that matters. The format when I edit or view the specimen is different. It is probably just a number that is saved anyhow.

I'm afraid there is an issue with importing content into a Date field - it's something that I've not had working (although I've not tried that many times to be honest). I'll mark this as an issue that will be fixed in the new version of the Scratchpads, as we will likely have an improved import workflow for that.

#349: Unable to map Date column to Date field on CSV import has been marked as a duplicate of this issue.
