Taxon pages: show data from synonyms under valid name

Description
For taxon pages based on ITIS vocabularies it should be possible to have the option to see data from synonyms on the taxon page of the valid taxon. For example as checkbox which can be switched on/off by each user.

This may actually be possible just by tweaking the URL of the Taxon page. Currently the URL is something like "taxonomy/term/[TID]", by adding a comma separated list of TIDs, it should just work (although iSpecies content probably won't). The URLs would therefore look something like "taxonomy/term/[TID],[TID]..." Creating URLs like this could be an option in the Tinytax browser.

Now synonyms added to the taxonomy on the same level as the accepted names appear in red in the classification navigator (TinyTax Block) on the left hand side. This is a good idea but may result in rather confusing and extensive lists if there are many synonyms. I noticed there is an option block 'user specific visibility settings' in the 'site building - blocks - TinyTax Block for ???' section, where we can allow the user to switch on and off the classification. Is it possible to create a similar option to switch on and off the visibility of synonyms in the classification?

Stephan - if you click on configure, you'll see the following options:
- Highlight (as of this morning, the default)
- Hide
- Show, no highlight
Simply selecting Hide will do what you're expecting.

however, I have not been precise enough in comment #2. I meant, if it would be possible to implement a button to allow the user (!) to switch between visibility or not of the synonyms. This is, as I understand it, possible for the whole classification in the section 'user specific visibility settings'. The default there is 'Users cannot control whether or not they see this block'. I would like to have an option 'Users can control whether or not they see the synonyms'.

Again, for clarification,
I think we misunderstand easily since I am not aware of the specific terminology in scratchpad. In comment #4 I said 'user' and thought of a regular anonymous visitor of my scratchpad pages. Possibly you associate 'user' with a person like myself, who edit and manage the page.
